WEI-YU HUNG is a womenswear label based in the Netherlands.
Since 2014, WEIYU HUNG has been invited to present in Milan Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week, Mercedes Benz China Fashion Week, CentreStage HongKong Fashion Week, showcasing designs incorporating practicality with unconventional materials and vision on consciousness to environment and society, in the forms of catwalk shows, and presentations.
In 21 Spring / Summer collection, WEIYU HUNG shows the iconic bark embroidery which is the traditional handcrafts turned tree bark into textile through hammering and washing.
He wants to create a new image of “Goddess” which embraces the beauty in new normal with curing, peaceful and universal feeling, designer wants to rebuild the close connection between humans and objects through embracing the traditional crafts to find out the future possibilities of sustainability.
The fashion designer collaborated with the social workshop in Nijmegen, the Netherlands to work with the jobless, the sick and the retired people to find out their inner talents to find out their second life.
